WE GET IT. NOT EVERYONE FEELS THAT THEY NEED OR WANT TO PAY FOR THE ONGOING CLOSE ATTENTION THAT COMES WITH OUR RETAINER-BASED PLANS.
BUT THEY RECOGNIZE THAT TO MOVE FORWARD EFFECTIVELY, THEY NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THEY STAND, WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE ON TRACK, TO GET ORGANIZED AND BE POINTED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION BEFORE THEY HEAD OFF ON THEIR OWN.
IN OTHER WORDS, A PERSONAL FINANCE JUMP-START.
When you sign up for Jump-$tart, we will start by holding an initial consultation, at which we will gather the financial data we need and discuss your goals, objectives, risk capacity and generally what is important to you.
Shortly afterwards, you will be sent a set of detailed reports from a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional that will, based on the information you have given, include a succinct summary of your financial situation as it stands right now in relation to your:
tax-advantaged investments (e.g., IRAs)
approximate monthly spending
income tax liability
current workplace retirement plan
previous workplace retirement plans
estate planning and legacy intent
student loan and other debt
level of socially responsible investment
missing money that may be owed to you
any foreign national considerations
The reports will then show a customized analysis of all these aspects of your financial picture and recommendations as to how you might address them, both right away and going forward. Included in this analysis will be:
A broad view of your asset allocation, level of investment fees you may be paying and recommendations on how the allocation may be improved given your situation, goals and objectives and the fees may be lowered using particular securities to represent the different parts of the allocation. Investing is not easy, but it should be simple.
Are you optimizing your workplace retirement plan (401k, 403b etc)? Are you contributing the correct amounts to Traditional and/or Roth IRAs?
A full college planning report, showing you how much college for your kid(s) is likely to cost and, more importantly, recommendations on what you need to do annually to get there in the coming years, both in terms of what investment vehicles to use and the amounts that will need to put aside.
A personal balance sheet.
What is your approximate income tax liability?
What are your likely current needs for life insurance? Are you under-insured? Over-insured? By how much?
Why do you need an Emergency Fund, how much should it be and how should you fund it?
Are you paying down your student loan or mortgage debt in the most effective manner? Maybe you are paying it down too slowly, but in many cases, we find people are paying certain debt down too fast. Is refinancing an option? How about credit card debt?*
What would happen if you were to die tomorrow? An overview of your estate planning and estate tax situation and what you may want to do about it. What about incapacitation? Do you have proxies in place to make decisions for you if you cannot?
Exclusive to Anglia Advisors, our complete estate planning checklist .. cover every base in advance and ease the administrative burden on those you leave behind if the worst were to suddenly happen to you.
