Hi, I'm Simon ..

Investopedia Advisor Insights talks to Simon about Anglia Advisors' financial planning practice.

I am Simon Brady, CFP®, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ originally from the UK. I have extensive experience in London's financial district and on Wall Street and as a financial advisor at the United Nations in New York.

My passion is to build financial stability for younger professionals who want to ensure that they have enough money for retirement and other goals, that their kids have a college fund, and everything else in between is taken care of. What I really love to do is to sit down with clients, listen to them explain their financial goals, concerns and dreams, and figure out a way to help them achieve financial security and create wealth for themselves and their families.

Education:

I went to University in both London and France, and studied business and finance. I came to New York as a currency trader when my UK employer transferred me to their Wall Street office. I moved from foreign exchange to equity derivatives, before transitioning to personal financial planning and earning my CFP® designation. I worked as a financial advisor at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and I am the founder and principal of my own NYC-based firm, Anglia Advisors.

Associations:

I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of New York, and act as its Director of Public Awareness, responsible for organizing its flagship annual event, the Financial Fitness Workshop. I speak widely on personal finance at financial conferences, universities, libraries, corporations and workshops in the New York area, as well as frequently publishing articles and being quoted on personal finance topics in national, local and specialist media. I am also a member of Investopedia's Advisor Insights team.

Media:

I have contributed articles and featured in videos on various financial planning topics to numerous media outlets, including Business Insider, Investopedia, CNBC, Asset TV, ConnectRoot, Savvy Parents and more. I also have my own podcast: Angles, and I am the host and presenter of the Financial Planning Association of New York's Personal Finance podcast. One of the things I am most proud of it that I have written a book.

But what I really love to do is to sit down with clients, listen to them explain their financial goals, concerns and dreams and figure out a way to help them achieve financial security and create wealth.
